Shock moment woman arrested on live TV as she slams Donald Trump

A protest against the Trump administration’s handling of Venezuela turned dramatic when a woman was arrested on live television. Jessica Plichta, who had helped organize the demonstration, spoke to WZZM about the U.S. capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro just hours earlier.

During the interview, Plichta urged citizens to take a stand, saying, "We have to apply pressure at all points that we can. This is not just a foreign issue, it's our tax dollars that are also being used to commit these war crimes." She added, "It is our duty to oppose the Trump administration, which is committing crimes both here in the U.S. and in Venezuela."

Plichta also expressed support for Maduro, stating, "I saw Maduro in person. People loved him. Maduro was elected by the people. He is for the people, and the people want to see his return. Free Maduro."

Moments after finishing her interview, police officers arrived. She was handcuffed and led to a patrol car. Authorities later said the arrest was for obstructing a roadway and failing to obey lawful orders after protesters ignored repeated instructions to move to the sidewalk.

The Grand Rapids Police Department confirmed that officers had issued more than 25 announcements instructing participants to leave the street, noting, "Blocking traffic in this manner is a direct violation of city and state law. The group refused lawful orders, and those identified were subject to arrest."

Plichta was released later that same day, according to the Grand Rapids Alliance. The incident highlights the tension between civic protest and law enforcement during politically charged events, especially as debates over U.S. foreign interventions continue to draw attention.
