Russian general reveals Putin's terrifying orders for 2026 as WW3 fears skyrocket

Donald Trump’s much-touted Ukraine “peace plan” is already unraveling and the latest revelation from Moscow makes that painfully clear.

A senior Russian military commander has confirmed on camera that Vladimir Putin has ordered his army to expand the war in 2026, with plans to seize additional Ukrainian territory along the northern border. The announcement directly undercuts any claim that Putin is interested in meaningful negotiations or compromise.

According to Russia’s top general, Valery Gerasimov, the Kremlin has instructed its forces to push deeper into Ukraine’s Sumy and Kharkiv regions, framing the operation as an expansion of a so-called “security buffer zone.” In reality, this is a continuation of Russia’s long-running strategy of territorial aggression one that shows no signs of slowing, regardless of U.S. diplomatic outreach.

This development is especially damaging for Trump, who has repeatedly suggested that his personal relationship with Putin could quickly end the war. Yet while Trump expresses anger over alleged Ukrainian actions, the Russian president is openly preparing for more land grabs and prolonged conflict.

The timing is also revealing. Moscow recently claimed without evidence that Ukraine attempted a drone strike on a heavily guarded Russian residence near Valdai. Independent observers, Ukrainian officials, and even U.S. diplomats have cast serious doubt on the story. NATO representatives have stated that it’s unclear whether such an incident ever occurred, and Ukrainian leaders have outright denied it.

Despite the lack of proof, the claim appears to be serving a familiar purpose: justifying escalation and derailing peace efforts. Reports from workers near the area say they heard no air defense activity, further undermining Russia’s narrative. Many analysts view the episode as a false pretext to continue military expansion rather than pursue diplomacy.

Meanwhile, the human cost of this strategy continues to mount.

Russian drone strikes overnight hit civilian areas, including the Black Sea port city of Odesa, leaving neighborhoods without electricity, heat, or water during freezing temperatures. Residential buildings caught fire, and among the injured were children and an infant. Similar attacks were reported in Kyiv region towns, once again highlighting that civilians remain primary victims of the conflict.

Ukrainian officials emphasize that their country continues to target military and energy infrastructure tied to Russia’s war machine, including oil and gas facilities used to sustain the invasion. These strikes, while controversial, are widely recognized as part of Ukraine’s self-defense under international law.

The broader takeaway is hard to ignore:

Putin is planning for more war, not peace. And Trump’s confidence that he can single-handedly broker a deal looks increasingly detached from reality.

If peace is ever going to be achieved, it won’t come from trusting the word of an autocrat who openly orders territorial expansion it will come from sustained international pressure, accountability, and support for Ukraine’s sovereignty.

That’s the uncomfortable truth this revelation makes impossible to deny.
