Colombia leader makes chilling WW3 war crime warning, compares Trump to Hitler

Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro has sharply criticized U.S. President Donald Trump, drawing a controversial comparison between Trump’s recent actions in Latin America and the policies of Adolf Hitler during World War II.

In a post on his personal X account, Petro condemned the U.S. raid in Venezuela that resulted in the capture of former Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores. He warned that any similar attempt against Colombia would constitute “treason against the homeland.” Petro also criticized Trump’s use of the Monroe Doctrine, arguing that it violates international law and parallels Hitler’s expansionist policies.

Petro stated, “If you believe that innocent Colombian and Venezuelan citizens should die, imagine what would happen to the Colombian people if Trump’s threats become reality. That is treason against the homeland.” He added, “The Monroe Doctrine seeks to turn sovereign Latin American republics into colonies, breaking international law. It resembles the Lebensraum doctrine used by Hitler, which triggered two world wars.”

Taking a defiant stance, Petro issued a direct challenge to Trump: “Come get me! I’m waiting for you here. I don’t accept invasions, missiles, or assassinations, only dialogue backed by facts. Stop being misled by Colombian political mafias responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths and extreme inequality.”

The warning follows Trump’s recent aggressive comments about Colombia, accusing Petro of involvement in cocaine trafficking to the United States. Critics also questioned Trump’s decision to pardon former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández, who was convicted of drug trafficking and sentenced to 45 years in U.S. prison, just days before Maduro’s capture.

Trump has signaled that the U.S. could extend military operations to other Latin American countries unless steps are taken to combat drug trafficking. He also suggested taking control of Venezuela’s oil industry after Maduro’s arrest, claiming, “They took our oil away from us. The oil companies are going to rebuild it.”

Petro’s bold statements highlight rising tensions between Latin America and the U.S., signaling a potential diplomatic confrontation if Trump continues his aggressive foreign policy approach.
