NBC issues breaking news alert on Donald Trump's health: 'It's over for US president'

NBC interrupted programming with urgent breaking news as concerns about President Donald Trump’s health and judgment intensified worldwide. The controversy erupted after Trump told senior military officials that he wanted to use the city of Chicago as a “military proving ground.”

This unusual statement immediately sparked debate over whether the 25th Amendment which allows the vice president to assume power if the president is unable to lead should be invoked.

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker strongly criticized Trump’s remarks, calling them “inane.” Speaking live on NBC, the anchor reported:

“Governor Pritzker tonight is calling for President Trump to be removed, asking for the 25th amendment to be invoked.”

Trump’s suggestion that U.S. cities could serve as training zones for the military was met with alarm. Pritzker said:

“Sending troops into cities, thinking that’s some kind of proving ground for war… or that there’s some sort of internal war in the United States is, frankly, inane. I’m concerned for his health.”

NBC political correspondent Mary Ann Ahern explained that Pritzker went even further by directly urging the use of the 25th Amendment:

“There is something genuinely wrong with this man, and the 25th amendment ought to be invoked.”

While Pritzker and Chicago officials rejected Trump’s approach, some Republican lawmakers in Illinois voiced support for federal intervention, highlighting sharp political divisions.

This breaking development comes as the nation remains on edge, with immigration issues also drawing attention. Over the weekend, a Guatemalan family parents and two children were arrested together, prompting their pastor to say he was “heartbroken,” especially over images of the young daughter who appeared confused and afraid about what would happen next.

The latest controversy raises serious questions about the president’s decision-making and whether the 25th Amendment could realistically be triggered in the days ahead.
