Fox News halted for breaking update on shooting in huge blow to Donald Trump

A tense situation unfolded in Minneapolis after reports emerged of a shooting involving Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, prompting an unusual interruption in Fox News’ regular programming.

Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner broke into live coverage to report what was initially described as an “ICE-involved shooting” in South Minneapolis. As footage from the scene aired, Faulkner told viewers that authorities were actively responding and that the situation was still developing.

She explained that Minnesota Governor Tim Walz had earlier stated his public safety team was working to gather more information while urging residents to remain calm. Shortly afterward, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey escalated the situation by publicly calling for ICE agents to be removed from the state, arguing that their presence was “causing chaos” a move widely seen as a political setback for Donald Trump’s aggressive immigration agenda.

Faulkner then handed coverage over to Fox News senior correspondent Mike Tobin, who was reporting live from the scene. Tobin described a heavy police presence, with several city blocks sealed off by police tape as officers worked to secure the area.

According to Tobin, tear gas had already been deployed after protesters gathered at the location a response he said has become common during ICE or Border Patrol operations. He confirmed that one person had been shot and identified the injured individual as a woman, though details about her condition remained unclear at the time. Importantly, no ICE agents were reported to be injured.

Tobin added that preliminary information suggested the incident may have been triggered by a vehicle ramming situation, a scenario that has occurred during past federal immigration enforcement actions. The FBI was identified as the lead agency investigating the shooting, with local police assisting primarily to maintain crowd control as protesters continued to arrive.

He also reiterated Mayor Frey’s demand that all federal ICE agents leave Minneapolis, noting the mayor’s accusation that their operations were destabilizing the city and inflaming tensions.

As the live report wrapped up, Faulkner returned to confirm additional clarification from authorities. She stated that investigators were now treating the incident as involving both a ramming and a shooting, explaining that earlier reports had been unclear but were now beginning to align.

The incident underscores the growing friction between local Democratic leaders and federal immigration enforcement under Trump-era policies and highlights how ICE operations continue to spark public unrest, political backlash, and serious safety concerns in major U.S. cities.
