Moment 'demented' Trump has meltdown live on TV as viewers say 'he's unhinged'

US President Donald Trump left viewers on major news networks stunned with his behavior during a widely broadcast speech.

During his address to Republican members of Congress at the Kennedy Center on January 6, Trump made a series of unusual and erratic statements, prompting criticism from viewers and political figures alike. Among his remarks, he claimed that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro copies his dance moves, and shared that his wife, Melania, dislikes when he dances on stage. He said, “Melania hates when I dance. I said, ‘Everybody wants me to dance.’ She said, ‘Darling, it’s not presidential.’ Actually, she said, ‘Could you imagine FDR dancing?’” He added that historical figures like Franklin D. Roosevelt were elegant even during challenging times, but wouldn’t have acted in the same way.

Throughout the speech, Trump also pulled unusual facial expressions, waved his arms theatrically, and even mimicked someone lifting weights while panting into the microphone.

Social media users quickly reacted, with one person describing it as “an old man delivering a policy speech while having a public meltdown,” and another saying, “I couldn’t watch more than five minutes who is really in charge?” Photos from the event circulated online, with users calling the performance “a national and global embarrassment.”

Political leaders also weighed in. Liberal Democrats’ leader Ed Davey called Trump “unhinged,” criticizing his approach to international alliances and warning that his behavior threatens the reliability of the United States as a global partner. He emphasized the need for strong leadership to protect allies and uphold international commitments.
