Sky News halted for urgent Donald Trump breaking update it's not good news

Sky News delivered breaking news as Donald Trump hosted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, where the two leaders are negotiating a 20-point peace plan to end Russia’s war on Ukraine.

Sky News presenter Samantha Washington interrupted regular programming to report that Ukraine’s president revealed the proposed peace plan includes U.S. security guarantees for 15 years, falling short of Zelensky’s initial request for 50-year guarantees. Zelensky also criticized Vladimir Putin, stating that the Russian president’s words on ending the war do not match his actions.

In a major development, the Kremlin confirmed that Vladimir Putin will speak with Donald Trump “very soon,” signaling potential high-level engagement on the peace plan.

The conflict’s contested Donbas region remains a sticking point. Russia seeks control over eastern Ukraine, but Ukraine insists on defending its territory. Zelensky emphasized respecting Ukrainian law and sovereignty, calling the region “the land of our nation, the land for generations.” When pressed about an agreement on Donbas zones, Trump admitted, “The word agree is too strong, but we’re getting closer to an agreement… It’s unresolved, but progressing.”

Trump also highlighted consultations with European leaders, including the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Finland, Poland, Norway, and European Union officials, describing the initial discussions as “excellent” and claiming that “we covered, some would say, 95%… a lot of progress” has been made. He suggested that a peace plan could be finalized in “a few weeks” if negotiations continue successfully.

This developing story underscores the delicate diplomacy surrounding Ukraine, with global attention on how the U.S., Russia, and European powers navigate one of the most consequential conflicts in recent history.
