Donald Trump furious minutes into Zelensky meeting as tensions explode 'Dumb question!'

US President Donald Trump had a fiery moment with the media shortly after welcoming Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida. When asked about a security agreement, Trump snapped: “What a dumb question. Nobody knows what the security agreement is going to say.”

Despite this tense exchange with the press, the interaction between Trump and Zelensky was notably cordial. Trump praised Zelensky as a “very brave” leader who has “worked very hard”, signaling a more cooperative tone compared to their last encounter at the White House.

Zelensky arrived in Florida to discuss an updated 20-point peace proposal aimed at ending the war in Ukraine. This new plan, adapted from an earlier 28-point draft coordinated by US envoy Steve Witkoff and Russian officials, includes potential security guarantees from the US, NATO, and European allies, and proposes options like a demilitarized zone or a free economic zone in the Donbas region—while ensuring any withdrawn areas remain under Ukrainian control.

Trump emphasized that the meeting would be “very good for Ukraine, good for everybody”, and confirmed prior talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, describing them as “very productive”. He also asserted that he had ended eight wars during his presidency, calling the Russia-Ukraine conflict the “most difficult one”.

While the media interaction highlighted Trump’s blunt style, the focus of the day remained on shaping a potential framework for peace, demonstrating ongoing US involvement in global security and diplomatic negotiations.
