Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene is once again in a public feud with former President Donald Trump following his recent meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Greene has accused Trump of abandoning his signature “America First” agenda, sparking controversy among Republicans.
Taking to X, Greene expressed frustration over Trump’s foreign engagements, noting his meetings with Zelensky in Florida and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu scheduled for Monday. She wrote, “Zelensky today. Netanyahu tomorrow. Can we just do America?”
Greene has been vocal about her criticisms of international figures and crises. She previously referred to Zelensky as “a dictator who canceled elections” and labeled the humanitarian crisis in Gaza as a “genocide,” becoming one of the first Republicans to do so.
Trump, in contrast, has emphasized his foreign policy role during his second term, claiming—without evidence—that he ended eight wars globally. He has shown particular interest in the Ukraine-Russia and Israel-Hamas conflicts, meeting multiple leaders to discuss potential resolutions. During his Sunday meeting with Zelensky at Mar-a-Lago, the two leaders discussed a revised 20-point plan to end the war in Europe, with Trump asserting optimism about progress, despite ongoing Russian attacks.
In a press briefing, Trump made controversial remarks suggesting Russian President Vladimir Putin supports Ukraine’s success, citing energy and other support at low costs.
Greene’s comments follow weeks of tension with Trump and the broader MAGA movement. She has recently criticized the party on divisive issues, including the handling of Epstein files and U.S. funding for Gaza.
Greene claims that her criticism has led to personal attacks and death threats from Trump supporters. In an interview with 60 Minutes, she revealed receiving threatening emails labeled “Marjorie Traitor Greene,” allegedly fueled by Trump. She said she informed Trump and Vice President JD Vance, but received “extremely unkind” responses.
The Congresswoman has announced she will retire in January, explaining that she does not want to be a “battered wife” of the MAGA movement. In her statement, Greene emphasized her self-respect and family priorities, expressing concern that a primary fight against Trump’s preferred candidate could hurt her district and Republican chances in upcoming midterms.
