Donald Trump 'paints over black hand' at Zelensky meeting sparks more health fears

 

Donald Trump has once again been photographed with a noticeable bruise on his hand, this time seemingly covered with makeup ahead of his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The 79-year-old US President was seen outside his Florida residence with what appeared to be heavy makeup on his hand before discussions with Zelensky, centered on a 20-point peace plan aimed at ending the war in Ukraine. Trump has previously been pictured with plasters or makeup covering similar bruising, prompting public speculation about his health.

The White House has consistently explained that the bruises result from Trump’s “constant” handshaking. Earlier this month, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt reiterated that explanation after another plaster sparked renewed questions. She stated, “The president is literally constantly shaking hands. He’s also on a daily aspirin regimen, which, according to past physicals, can contribute to the bruising you see.”

Speculation about his condition has also arisen after Trump was observed with his eyes closed during Cabinet meetings. White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles reassured the public, saying, “He’s fine. He’s not asleep. He’s just got his eyes closed and head leaned back … he’s fine.”

The timing of these health concerns comes as Trump prepares to discuss an updated peace framework with Zelensky. Zelensky described the plan as “the main framework for ending the war.” The proposal, adapted from an earlier 28-point peace plan developed by US envoy Steve Witkoff and Russian negotiators, includes establishing either a demilitarized zone or a free economic zone in the Donbas region. Zelensky emphasized that any area from which Ukrainian troops withdraw would remain under Ukrainian policing.

Trump told reporters ahead of the meeting that it would be a “very good meeting” and “good for Ukraine, good for everybody,” highlighting the administration’s focus on advancing diplomatic solutions.
